Job Description
The Group Head of Legal is responsible for developing and leading the organization’s
legal strategy, ensuring robust governance, and effective risk management across all
legal operations. This role acts as a key advisor to the Board of Directors, and senior
leadership team, supporting strategic decision-making and safeguarding the company’s
legal and ethical integrity.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the company’s overall legal strategy aligned with
business objectives - Advise the CEO, Board, and executive team on legal, and governance matters
- Promote strong corporate governance and ethical standards across the
organization - Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies
(i.e., GDPR, MiFID, MiFIR) - Design and implement internal control frameworks
- Monitor and interpret changes in legislation and assess business impact
- Liaise with government authorities
- Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks
- Provide proactive legal advice on business operations and strategic initiatives
- Oversee data privacy and intellectual property protection
- Corporate Governance & Administration
- Advise on board governance matters and corporate structure
- Manage corporate filings, statutory records, and documentation
- Develop and enforce internal legal policies and procedures
- Commercial & Transactional Support
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents
- Support mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions
- Provide legal guidance on commercial and operational matters
- Disputes & External Counsel Management
- Oversee litigation, disputes, and regulatory investigations
- Manage relationships with and supervise external legal counsel
- Ensure cost-effective use of external legal resources
- Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the legal team
- Oversee legal department operations and performance
- Manage the legal department budget and control external legal costs
Qualifications & Experience - Qualified lawyer with a valid practicing certificate
- Managed complex companies as in Groups of companies
- Managed various jurisdictions
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant legal experience, with significant leadership
exposure preferably in the CFD industry. - Advance and AML CySEC Certificates considered as advantage
- Strong expertise in corporate law, governance, compliance, and risk
management - Experience in managing complex legal matters, including M&A and litigation
- Proven ability to operate at executive and board level
