We are working with a leading client seeking a Head of Back Office to take ownership of back office operations and the full payments/PSP function.

This is a senior role combining operational leadership with strategic oversight of payment infrastructure, ensuring efficient, compliant, and scalable transaction processing across multiple jurisdictions.


Key Responsibilities

PSP & Payments Management

  • Own and manage relationships with PSPs, acquirers, and alternative payment providers
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all payment-related matters
  • Lead onboarding of new PSPs, including integrations, testing, and implementation
  • Monitor approval rates, transaction performance, and routing efficiency
  • Oversee deposits, withdrawals, and daily payment operations
  • Identify fraud trends, chargebacks, and suspicious activity in collaboration with Risk and Compliance
  • Optimise payment flows and recommend enhancements to infrastructure
  • Drive automation and improvements across payment processes
  • Report on PSP performance, transaction trends, and operational issues to senior management

Back Office Operations

  • Oversee daily back office operations across deposits, withdrawals, and internal transfers
  • Ensure strict adherence to KYC, AML, and regulatory requirements (CySEC, GDPR)
  • Maintain accurate client records and ensure secure data handling
  • Work closely with Compliance on onboarding, due diligence, and ongoing monitoring
  • Prepare reports on client activity, transaction flows, and risk exposure
  • Support Finance with reconciliations and cash flow tracking
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Maintain structured documentation and operational records

Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the back office team
  • Establish and enforce operational procedures and best practices
  • Drive continuous improvement across systems, workflows, and controls
  • Ensure high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and compliance

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in back office and/or payments within CFD, Forex, FinTech,
  • Minimum 2 years in a senior or leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of PSPs, payment flows, card acquiring, and integrations
  • Solid understanding of CySEC, KYC/AML, and GDPR frameworks
  • Experience analysing transaction data and payment performance metrics
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise across PSPs, Compliance, and senior stakeholders

Nice to have:

  • Experience with CRM systems, payment gateways, and transaction monitoring tools
